Minutes from Harps Mill Woods Annual Meeting
February 15, 2005
Attendance: 18 people representing 13 households. A quorum was established.
Board Members: Evan Cherry, Lois Foster, Michael Arber, Todd Loy, Howard Perry
- 7:00 Call to order by Evan Cherry
- Minutes from 2004 were approved.
- The President’s report by Evan discussed the projects completed over the past year. They included:
- Mulched and transplanted bushes at the pool area.
- Cleaned out ditch on the path to the pool.
- Put pea gravel on the path to the pool.
- Put out clean up after your dog signs.
- Set the dues at $180, a reduction of 27%.
- Completed a financial review.
The Treasurer’s report by Michael discussed the actual expenditures for 2004 and how they matched up with the 2004 budget. Assets at the year-end were reported at $28,304,68. The 2005 budget was given and discussed. The board was proud to be able to reduce the dues to $180 and we discussed how the dues rate could fluctuate in the future.
I-540 was discussed by Todd Loy. The DOT has planted many trees and continues to plant more as their landscaping project winds down. Todd brought the landscaping blueprints to share. The landscaping project marks the conclusion of the board’s many years of work with DOT to mitigate sound from I-540.
The Social report was given by Lois. There was a social survey in the Spring. Some items were implemented: children’s Easter party, children’s Halloween party, and family park picnic.
Old Business
From the floor it was mentioned that there is an old erosion problem on the hill behind the pool.
It was mentioned that some of the bushes planted near the pool’s parking lot are not healthy.
It was mentioned that when the ditch was dug some dirt was allowed to wash down and accumulate at the foot of the creek. The poor drainage could lead to more mosquitoes.
It was mentioned that some people have several guests who park on the street and create parking problems.
New Business
Two terms expired held by Todd Loy and Evan Cherry. The two vacancies were filled by Rob Smith and Jon Lee. The vote by acclamation was unanimous.
